Dual-Fuel Planning

Choose Fuel for the Situation, Not Just the Spec Sheet

Gasoline and propane give the 6800PD two practical fuel paths for RV, portable power, and selected home backup use. Available generator output and runtime vary with fuel, load, temperature, altitude, and operating conditions.

Gasoline

Plan from the Published Output

The 6800W peak and 5000W rated running figures are the gasoline output basis. Use gasoline when your managed load plan needs the generator's highest published output.

Propane

Add Stored-Fuel Flexibility

Propane provides another outage and RV fuel option. Allow for lower available output than gasoline and confirm that the cylinder, hose, regulator, and load plan are compatible.

Included fuel hardware: The 6800PD package includes a propane LPG hose with regulator. Use the onboard gasoline tank or connect propane with the included hose and regulator as directed in the user manual.

Connection Clarity

Two Built-In 30A Outlets. Two Different Jobs.

Choose the outlet by voltage, plug type, and load plan. The included TT-30R item is an adapter for compatible 30A RV use; it is not a receptacle built into the generator.

Built-In Generator Outlet

L14-30R

A 30A 120V/240V locking receptacle for compatible dual-voltage backup connections. Home circuits require approved inlet and transfer equipment installed according to code.

Built-In Generator Outlet

Compatibility
Compatibility Typical Equipment Compatibility Details
RV Power 30A RV systems, travel trailers, fifth wheels, RV refrigerators, converters, lighting and appliances Compatible with appropriately configured RV electrical systems via a compatible TT-30R adapter. Always verify total running load and the starting surge of large appliances before operating multiple RV loads at the same time.
10,000–14,000 BTU RV / Portable AC Medium RV air conditioners and portable air conditioners Suitable for many air conditioners in the 10,000–14,000 BTU range. Check the air conditioner's running watts and compressor starting demand. Leave enough generator capacity for refrigerator, converter, battery charger and other simultaneous RV loads.
15,000–24,000 BTU AC Large RV AC, large portable AC and selected mini-split systems The 6800PD is the recommended ERAYAK power class for larger 15,000–24,000 BTU air-conditioning applications. Compatibility depends on the exact AC model, voltage, running watts and compressor starting surge. Some systems may require load management or a compatible soft-start device.
Home Backup Refrigerator, freezer, lights, router, TV, chargers, selected kitchen appliances and essential circuits Supports managed 120V and 240V home-backup loads when connected through properly rated equipment. Plan selected essential circuits rather than unrestricted whole-home operation.
Well / Water Pump Approximately 1–2 HP well pumps and larger water pumps Suitable for many 1–2 HP pump applications with typical running demand in the approximately 1,500–3,000W range. Pump motors can require much higher power during startup, so both running watts and starting watts must be verified before connection.
Sump Pump Basement sump pumps and drainage pumps Suitable for many sump-pump backup applications when the pump's running and starting requirements remain within the available generator output. When a refrigerator, HVAC system or other motor load is operating at the same time, calculate the combined load and allow additional startup capacity.
Sewage / Effluent Pump Sewage pumps, effluent pumps and larger utility pumps Can support many compatible sewage and effluent pump systems. Verify pump voltage, horsepower, running wattage and starting demand. Higher-starting-load pumps should be started before adding other major loads whenever appropriate.
Refrigerator & Freezer Large refrigerator, French-door refrigerator, standalone freezer and refrigerator-freezer combinations Suitable for household refrigeration backup. Because refrigerators and freezers use compressors, allow additional generator capacity for startup and avoid starting several compressor-driven appliances at the same moment.
Sensitive Electronics Computers, routers, TVs, chargers, control boards and other compatible electronics Inverter-generator output is suitable for many sensitive electronic loads after compatibility verification. Always confirm the connected device's voltage, frequency, grounding, waveform and surge requirements.
Medical Equipment Selected CPAP devices, monitoring equipment and other electrically powered medical devices Do not assume universal medical-device compatibility. Before using the 6800PD with medical or safety-critical equipment, confirm the equipment manufacturer's voltage, frequency, waveform, grounding and backup-power requirements. A portable generator should not be represented as medical-grade power or as the sole emergency power source for life-critical equipment.
120V / 240V Equipment Selected 120V loads and compatible 240V equipment The 6800PD supports 120V / 240V power planning. Verify the equipment voltage, running watts, starting watts, receptacle, cord and connection requirements before use.
Transfer Switch / Home Inlet Selected home circuits through approved transfer equipment Home connection requires properly rated inlet and transfer equipment. Never backfeed through a household receptacle. Installation and connection should comply with applicable electrical codes and be performed by a qualified professional where required.

Important compatibility note: The ERAYAK 6800PD provides up to 5000W rated / 6800W peak gasoline output. Appliance compatibility depends on the selected fuel, voltage, total running load, motor or compressor starting surge, temperature, altitude and operating conditions. Always verify the equipment nameplate and manufacturer requirements before use.

    1. Engine Oil — The Most Important Routine Service

Checking and changing the engine oil is the most important maintenance step.

    Before Each Use

Check the oil level and make sure it is within the recommended range.

    First Oil Change

    Change the engine oil after:

20 operating hours or 1 month, whichever comes first.

    Regular Oil Changes

After the first service, change the oil every:

50 operating hours or 3 months.

    Basic Oil Change

    1. Stop the generator before maintenance.
    2. Place the generator on a level surface.
    3. Remove the oil dipstick.
    4. Remove the oil drain bolt and drain the used oil.
    5. Reinstall and tighten the drain bolt.
    6. Add the recommended engine oil.
    7. Check the oil level.
    8. Reinstall the dipstick.

    2. Air Filter — Easy to Inspect and Clean

A clean air filter helps the engine breathe properly and protects the carburetor and engine from dust.

    Routine Care

Check the air filter before every use.

If the foam filter becomes dirty:

    1. Remove the air filter cover.
    2. Remove and inspect the filter element.
    3. Wash it with warm soapy water or an approved non-flammable cleaner.
    4. Rinse and squeeze it dry.
    5. Apply a few drops of engine oil to the foam element.
    6. Reinstall the filter and cover.

Never operate the generator without the air filter installed.

    3. Spark Plug — Only Occasional Attention Needed

The spark plug does not require frequent maintenance.

For the tri-fuel 6800PT, use the spark plug specification listed in the owner's manual.

Inspect the spark plug approximately every:

270 operating hours or once per year.

    Check for:

    • Carbon buildup
    • Damaged insulation
    • Excessive electrode wear
    • Incorrect electrode gap

Clean and adjust the spark plug when appropriate, or replace it if damaged.

    Heavy-Duty or Dusty Conditions

More frequent maintenance is recommended when the generator operates under demanding conditions.

    High Temperature or Heavy Load

If the generator is frequently operated under high temperature or heavy load conditions:

Change the engine oil every 10 operating hours.

    Dusty or Harsh Environments

If the generator is frequently used in dusty conditions:

    • Clean the air filter every 10 hours
    • Replace the air filter approximately every 25 hours if necessary

    Long-Term Storage

Preparing the generator correctly for storage helps prevent fuel-system problems when you need it again.

    Before long-term storage:

    1. Allow the generator to cool completely.
    2. Store it in a clean, dry location.
    3. Remove fuel from the gasoline tank.
    4. Clean the fuel filter components as required.
    5. Drain remaining gasoline from the carburetor.
    6. Tighten the carburetor drain bolt after draining.
    7. Store the generator according to the owner's manual.

This is especially important when the generator will not be used for an extended period.

Great for Weekend Trips

Took the 6800PD out with us for a weekend trip and it worked really well. There are plenty of outlets, so we could power several things without constantly switching plugs. The 120V/240V selector is also a nice feature and gives us more options depending on what equipment we bring. It made the whole setup much easier and more flexible.

Unit operation manual

Unit operates as advertised though wners manual can use some improvement. Errors in grammer and sentences makes portions of manual hard to follow. Manual needs more detail in how to use features. Also, how to maintain unit between long periods of time between usesage such as using only for power outages during all seasons of the year.

Functions as advertised, easy to operate

Love, love, love the generator. Easy to assemble, very easy to start and operate. Presently I have run it on gasoline and propane with no issues. If I had to find one thing I wish was better it would probably be the high noise level. But that is getting pretty picky. I highly recommend the generator.

Amazing features

Excellent generator. Quiet, easy to start, and smooth running. But the real standout is the customer service. My generator wouldn't draw from a propane tank (gas worked fine). ERAYAK's support team walked me through troubleshooting, sent a replacement regulator, and when that didn't resolve it, arranged a full replacement. That kind of customer service is rare. They've earned a customer for life.Great product, even better service. Definitely recommend.

Low Noise Performance

This is the best generator of the 20+ that i have owned.
I wanted an invertor generator for the cleaner power output, and to reduce noise and fuel consumption under light loads.
I also wanted to primarily run it on Natural Gas during power outages, but still be able to use propane or gasoline if needed. There aren't many choices for tri-fuel inverter generators, and most invertor generators are very small. It can also be paralleled with a second generator for double output. This is important for me because running on natural gas doesn't provide full rated power like gasoline. Paralleled units should run everything, including my central AC without a problem.
The quality is excellent.
It's a bit heavy to be used as a portable unit, but it is nice to be able to move it around when needed.
