In search of a portable generator for our Travel Trailer and occasional power outages, I discovered the ERAYAK 2400W Portable Inverter Generator. Its compact design, ease of starting, and increased power output compared to our previous generator immediately caught my attention. Erayak 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter 12V DC to 120V AC Converter

This is a well made inverter. It is a high frequency inverter that uses only one large High frequency Toroidal transformer for stepping up the 12V dc to 170V dc for feeding the DC to AC inverter output stage, most high frequency inverter uses multiple small transformers instead.
This unit can easily start and run my 1996 25 cu.ft Whirlpool without hesitation, I this fridge for testing inverter surge capability, it has at least 3600W of power surge which most of the 2000W inverters that I have tested fail to start and run this fridge. 2000W AIMS and BougRV can run my fridge OK, but other brands have failed to do so.

Now the bad part:
The Voltmeter calibration is way off, it shows 115V ac on the display but my Fluke and Kill-A-Watt meter show 120V ac, this is will also cause the Watt display to be off also.
The cables that come with the unit are too small, you should use 2/0 wire gauge for this unit for the DC input wires. 2000W AC output/12V = 167A, 167A/0.85 = 196A on the DC input side due to 85% inverter efficiency.
According to the tech support, you cannot bond Neutral and Ground together otherwise it will damage the unit.
It only has 2 AC outlets.

This thing is a beast.

I have a few 2000 Watt Pure Sine wave inverters and this is the largest. I am not sure if that is because it has heavier duty components or is using older tech which is typically larger. But either way, this performs great. I live out in the country and my power goes off frequently. The pure sine wave is necessary for my computer UPS and systems. The external remote switch is very nice and the whole unit would be great addition in an RV. A 2000 watt inverter is not enough to run your house, but could run probably run an RV depending on what you have plugged in. You would need several for a house. Just double check the Wattage of the devices you are using. IMO, you never want to run an inverter at 100% load for very long and like to keep it around 80% load for any length of time. I will update if anything changes good or bad.

Heavy duty, works great

We run this inverter while driving our SUV to charge Lithium ion batteries for our camper. It works flawlessly and I couldn't be happier with it. This inverter is somewhat big and very heavy but with the remote control, it's easy to start it. I can recommend it.

"I've got the power" ... nice inverter

I ordered this for an off-grid pavilion with solar panels and a battery bank. It has a nice remote 'on/off' switch and the wiring to control it. The packaging is good. I haven't hooks up an oscilloscope but everything seems to work like it was on line power.

This would be great for a small home with minimal power requirements. This will require a pretty good sized battery if you want to use it with stuff like a microwave (small) or a hair dryer (1500W) I am pretty impressed with this.

Massive power plant

This inverter is large and in charge ! Has all the power I need plus some. Just make sure your vehicle has the battery and alternator power to run it to it's full potential. It will let you know and shut off on low battery voltage. When under a heavy load it does pull a lot of current but is pretty efficient. Has no issue power up a portable air conditioner and misc small items, laptop, cell phone chargers, small flat TV etc. So foa so good Id definitely give a recommendation.

Inverter for 12v to 120v

This inverter is exactly what I was looking for. I live in an area with an unreliable electric grid so we decided to install solar panels. Without a service provider, I can't store or access the power my panels generate. That's where this inverter comes in. This Erayak 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter is neither small nor light. It's a solidly build piece of serious equipment with convincing technical specs. As another reviewer posted, this is a pure sine wave inverter. It creates high quality power with a stable frequency. No frequency and voltage fluctuations, no Noisy RF interference. I can run this inverter right next to my radio equipment with zero issues.
The power output is perfect for my needs: It woks great as a mobile platform and does additional duty with back up power at home.
Don't waster your money on cheap inverters. This is the real deal.


I live part-time in a converted van and I absolutely depend on AC power. I have camped like this since 2018 ,and have gone through many options and several inverters. Currently, I use a solar generator with 400 watts of solar panels on my roof to keep my microwave, capsule coffee pot, and induction burner happy. However, there are times when there isn't enough sun. I can use an inverter to power all of these while idling my car (one at a time). Additionally, I can run the inverter while driving to power the the solar generator's AC adapter (to charge it) when driving. This way I always have power to spare. This is what to look for if you are in this situation.

Power: I think 2,000 watts is ideal. The largest wattage that any normal home appliance will pull is 1,800 watts, with many appliances using 1000-1500 watts. My coffee pot uses around 700 watts, my microwave uses 1,100 watts (700 watts output), and my induction burner uses a maximum of 1500 watts. A 2 KW inverter can handle any of these (again, one at a time). I could get a bigger inverter but I don't think my vehicles electrical system could handle it.

Pure Sine Wave: This option is becoming more common and less expensive. If possible, don't buy a modified sine wave inverter. Some things (like many CPAP machines) won't run with dirty power. Others (like some microwaves) may, but they will make more noise, heat your food slower, and likely wear out faster. Pure sine wave most closely duplicates the power that comes out of your power outlet at home.

Additional items to look for

Remote Control: high powered inverters are large and so they are often mounted under or in something. It is best to turn on an inverter only when you need it, as leaving it on will consume quite a bit of energy even if you don't have something plugged in. Some units don't have a wired remote, for some it is an extra purchase, but this unit gives you the remote as well as the connecting cable. I have my remote mounted next to my driver's seat so I can easily turn on the unit to charge my solar generator when driving. It is convenient enough to also turn it on and off when using the inverter as a back up when cooking.

Display: This unit has a simple display on the top, which is nice. Its biggest benefit is that it will give you error codes. I had a problem where my inverter kept on shutting down. By using the error codes I discovered that I had low voltage and was able to trace the problem to a loose battery connection.

Fans: Hot components fail. Good fans cool down hot components. This unit has two fans for good ventilation

Extra: This unit is big and heavy. I'm making an assumption, but it is that this unit has larger components than some other units that I have examined. Beefy components tend to last longer.

In der jetzigen und heutigen Zeit von einer Krise in die nächste rennend, sollte so ein Stromerzeuger fast zur Grundausstattung eines jeden Haushaltes gehören und von der Steuer absetzbar sein, da unsere " Staatskasperl " dafür verantwortlich sind.
Zum Gerät selber.
Verarbeitung und Leistung sind bei diesem Gerät einfach TOP. Ich kenne keinen vergleichbaren Benzin-Generator in dieser Preisklasse der eine Dauerleistung von 3 kw schafft.
Damit kann man seinen Grundbedarf und noch einiges mehr bei einem Energie Blackout absichern.
Und das dieser kommt ist bei unserer auf biegen und brechen gewollten klimaneutralen Energiewende, die ein völliger Schwachsinn unserer Regierung ist, vorhersehbar und nur eine Frage der Zeit.
Das Design ist kompakt und gut durchdacht. Die Befüllung der Betriebsstoffe sowie die erste Innbetriebnahme war innerhalb kürzester Zeit möglich und der Generator sprang nach 4-maligen ziehen am Starterseil ohne Probleme an.
Dies geht so einfach das es sogar eine Frau ohne Mühe schafft.
Betankt wird mit E10 Kraftstoff den der Hersteller explizit angibt.
Der Lärmpegel ist akzeptabel und in 3-4 Meter Entfernung mehr als erträglich.
Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist das dieser Generator einen sehr sauberen Strom erzeugt.
Sprich er erzeugt eine reine Sinuswelle so das auch empfindliche Geräte wie Laptop, TV etc. angeschlossen werden können ohne Schaden wegen Über-oder Unterspannung zu nehmen.
Es gibt 2 x 230 Volt Steckdosen, USB-Anschluß sowie einen 12 Volt Ausgang für das Auto. Desweiteren können 2 ERAYAK Geräte über ein Kabel miteinander verbunden werden um die Ausgangsleistung so zu erhöhen.
Eine Kontrolllampe warnt vor zu wenig Öl und ein Schalter der zwischen ECO und 100 % Modus schaltbar ist, drosselt bei wenig benötigter Leistung die Drehzahl, den Lärmpegel und damit auch den Benzinverbrauch.
Geht es besser.......
Zudem liegt hier definitiv auch noch eine deutsche Bedienungsanleitung bei.
Und was den Preis angeht........ ist dieser zur bereits erwähnten hohen Leistung eh konkurrenzlos.
Und um das aller wichtigste nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren, ich habe im Notfall Strom !!!
Von mir daher eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Scheint ganz OK zu sein - erster Test

Gekauft:Modell 4000S

Sehr schneller und guter Service-Kontakt - der beiliegende 12-Volt-Stecker war beschädigt angeliefert worden. Wird nachgeliefert, dauert aber. (Update: schon da! Und 2 neue für einen kaputten Stecker! Sehr bemüht um guten Service!)

Erster Eindruck: wertig. Gut verarbeitet. Plastikgehäuse wirkt nicht billig verarbeitet.

Befüllen mit Öl: eine Füllhilfe liegt bei. Leider trotz Dichtung nicht wirklich dicht, da verformtes billiges Plastik, aber man legt nen Lappen drunter und gut. Viel Öl geht nicht rein, ich hab im Handbuch vergeblich gesucht, wie viel. Später gesehen: steht auf dem Karton steht 0,45 Liter. Hab aufgefüllt, bis nix mehr reinging, das passt. Am Peilstab sieht man ja, dass es fast bis zur Kante gefüllt werden muss.

Da der Betrieb ja wahrscheinlich wenn, dann im folgenden Winter erfolgt, hab ich 0W30 genommen. 0W ist besser bei kalten Temperaturen.

Erster Start: ca 10 mal gezogen (nicht schwer zu ziehen), dann war genug Sprit im Vergaser und er ist direkt angesprungen. Bei den hohen Temperaturen heute musste ich sofort den Choke rausnehmen, hätte ihn vielleicht gar nicht gebraucht.

Leistung: hab zum testen 2 alte Heizlüfter angeschlossen und im Eco-Modus laufen lassen. Bei 3000W blinkt "overload", läuft aber weiter. Bei 2000W problemlos. Nun sind so Wattangaben auf alten Geräten wie den Heizlüftern nicht wirklich genau. Ich denke, jeder sollte testen, ob seine Geräte problemlos laufen.

Lautstärke: nicht zu laut, aber leise ist er nur ohne Last. War nicht anders zu erwarten, man muss realistisch bleiben. Hab keinen dB-Test gemacht, rein subjektiv.

Vor Inbetriebnahme sollte man die sehr gute deutsche Anleitung lesen. Prima finde ich die an einem Gummiband am Griff befestigte Schnellanleitung auf Deutsch. So vergisst man nicht, die Tankentlüftung zu öffnen und nachher wieder zu schließen.

Bin zufrieden, ist kein Fehlkauf und genau das, was ich gesucht habe.

Interessant ist, dass man 2 solcher Geräte koppeln kann. Kabel liegt bei. Hab nur keine Ahnung, ob man dann die doppelte Leistung an der Steckdose abrufen kann, dürfte aber wohl so in etwa sein.

Wer sowas kauft, muss bedenken, dass das Gerät in betrieb trocken / wettergeschützt draußen stehen muss. Der Unterstand muss mit den heißen Auspuffabgasen klarkommen und selbstredend Luftzufuhr ermöglichen.

Bzgl. Verbrauch kann ich leider nichts sagen.

So, das war erstmal das, was ich dazu weitergeben kann. Ich wünsche allen, dass wir sowas nicht brauchen. Leider jedoch habe ich das Vertrauen in die Politik verloren, daher halte ich es für sinnvoll, dass man wenigstens 2 Wochen überbrücken kann.

Frage: ich hab ja dieses 12V-Kabel neu bekommen. Nun weiß ich aber gar nicht, ob man sowas an einer Batterie anschließen dürfte? Wahrscheinlich nicht. Es hat zwar den Stecker für den Zigarettenanzünder und auf der anderen Seite 2 Klemmen, aber ungeregelt sollte das sicher nicht zum Batterieladen verwendet werden. Wahrscheinlich ist es, um beliebige 12V-Geräte betreiben zu können. Ich empfehle also, die Klemmen nicht an einer Batterie anzuschließen. Hab übrigens den Service gefragt, die konnten mir das nicht sagen, ob ein Anschluss an ner Batterie zulässig ist. Von daher: besser nicht, trotz der Klemmen.

Update 29.08.22: Antwort vom Kundendienst ist da: "Wir haben überprüft, dass der 12-Volt-Stecker Bleibatterien direkt laden kann, für Lithiumbatterienladen benötigen Sie einen Adapter." Ich gebe das ungeprüft weiter, würde aber dennoch - ohne jegliches Fachwissen - dazu raten, beim Laden dabei zu bleiben und zu schauen, dass die Batterie nicht warm wird, nicht entgast und nicht überladen wird. Ich glaube nicht, dass es ne Ladekurve gibt, aber für Notfälle möglicherweise ganz OK.

Ein Inverter der Spitzenklasse

Nun, da ich mein Haus in einer Gegend habe, wo der Hausanschluß über Strommasten erfolgt, (Erdkabel zu teuer lt. Gemeinde) wird halt hin und wieder einer der Masten beschädigt und Strom ist weg. Bis der Rep-Trupp kommt, kann es bis zu einem halben Tag dauern. Habe dieses Gerät heuer im Jänner gekauft.
Also, wenn ich zu Hause bin, will ich weiterhin je nach Tageszeit, meine Freizeit genießen. Der Generator hat einen "Spar-Schalter" = langsamer Lauf, erst bei Belastung erhöht sich die Drehzahl und spart dadurch Treibstoff. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Geräten, läuft er nicht dann auf Volllast, sondern regelt sich langsam, je nach dem Bedarf, hoch. Man merkt nicht einmal am Abend bei Licht, dass sich z.B. der Kühlschrank dazu einschaltet. Einen Inverter habe ich deshalb genommen, weil dieser eine richtige Sinus-Kurve hat, und es deshalb zu keinem Flimmern an Lampen oder TV kommt. Ein Mitbewerber H hat auch solche Geräte, aber fast dreimal so teuer. Ausserdem kommt automatisch bei der Lieferung ein spezielles Kabel mit, um ein zweites markengleiches Gerät paralell zu schalten. (doppelte Leistung möglich) Tolle Sache, aber ich komme mit der angebotenen Leistung von 3.000 Watt gut aus. Spitze bei 3.300 Watt. E-Herd ist nicht damit zu betreiben, aber eine extra Kochplatte kein Problem. Und wenn es mal finster ist, muss man dann nicht extra die Waschmaschine einschalten.
Der Generator ist rel. leicht zu transportieren (ca.20 kg) und kann damit mal im Feld oder bei anderen Baustellen, leicht aushelfen.
Obwohl aus Fernost, sehr gute deutsche Bedienungsanleitung. Und Preis passt bei dem Zubehör.
2x USB Stecker, 12 Volt mit Kabel zum Batterie laden und Paralell Kabel bei Bedarf.
Etwas sehr wichtiges habe ich leider vergessen zu schreiben.
Unbedingt durch einen Elektiker, einen Netz-Trenn-Schalter einbauen zu lassen. Es gibt automatische, die auch ein Aggregat dadurch einschalten, in meinem Fall habe ich einen manuellen Trennschalter einbauen lassen. Da das/mein Aggregat ja nur manuell zu bedienen ist, genügt ein "Normaler" Netztrennschalter. Damit wird vermieden, dass, sollte der Strom wieder über die normale Leitung ins haus kommen, es zu Kurzschlüssen jeglicher Art kommen. Wenn Strom wieder da, Aggregat auf Aus, Netzverbindung vom Aggregat trennen, und dann erst wieder den Trennschalter bedienen.

Perfect performance

I recently, perhaps out of an abundance of caution, sought a backup generator that could, if necessary, power my oil heating system and refrigerator. The unit was delivered super fast and was securely packaged. I filled it with oil, opting for 5W-40, and gasoline, and on the second pull of the starter, the engine fired up immediately. I gave the motor 5 minutes to reach operating temperature. Then I tested a few devices in ECO mode right away. Even the circular saw with 1800 watts or the compressor with 2000 watts ran without any problems. The 4-stroke engine in ECO mode consistently adjusted its speed to match the load. Then I tested the planned scenario. It's important to ground the generator when operating the oil heating system to ensure the flame monitoring works. The generator has an earthing clamp for this, so no problem. Oil burner + circulating pump + Samsung side-by-side fridge-freezer combo with ice maker, all running in parallel: no problem. I think there's even some reserve power for a bit of light or the router. So, if the power should go out for a longer period, after a warm shower, we can enjoy a Mai Tai with crushed ice in a warm living room. 😎

Great design, Erayak's machine is smaller in size but has the same power as those commonly found on the market, such as Champion. I once had the Champion 200988 4500-Watt ($1200), which claimed 4500Watt peak and 3500Watt operation, but was nowhere near actual, and had no battery or voltage display. The Erayak 4500pd not only has all of the above, but also has similar power and a lower price, making it worth booking.

It's HUGE but doubled my power!

Needed to find a 3000 watt inverter because my 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter could not handle my 600 watt microwave in my Freightliner truck. The 1500 watt inverter worked perfectly fine in a Volvo so I thought it would work in the Freightliner. Well, I could not run the microwave for long in my Freightliner truck before the fuse breaker switch would pop. So I had to do my research. I found this 3000 watt pure sound wave inverter by Erayak. Purchased a new one and it came packaged with all the bells and whistles. Everything was in the box, the set up with a snap, and my microwave works as it should, and no popping the breaker fuse. Happy with this purchase and the extra power. The only criticism is that I do wish it were smaller. But fortunately it still fit in the spot where my smaller inverter was, but barely.
